The island of Lanai (The Pineapple Isle) in the State of Hawaii is somewhat comma-shaped, and is a part of Maui County. Here's my favorite foyalty-free images of the island, along with a few interesting facts:

• The population of Lanai was 3,193 as of 2,000.

• The island consists of 13 subdivisions. Some of which are occupied by one individual.

• The largest width of Lanai is a mere 18 miles.

I personally like Ronald Adcock's distant image of Lanai the best. That image was shot on Maui, and features some fantastic color composition.
