Do they have a place in the hobby?

What are you thoughts on non-player hits in sports trading card products? Non-player hits includes autographed owner, coach, umpire, mascot and celebrity cards.

Considering I've only acquired one non-player hit that's valuable (an autographed Jerry Jones card serial numbered to 50), I think they should be classified as a bonus hit, rather than a guaranteed hit

Imagine paying over $100 for a box of cards with one guaranteed hit, only to pull a worthless non-player card.

Non-player hits is acceptable in hybrid products such as Topps Allen & Ginter and Upper Deck Goodwin Champions, because they're products with a lot of variety.

It's also acceptable to put those hits in niche products such as Topps Opening Day, because they match the products theme and value.
