Is the $210 markup worth it?
The Pokemon Trading Card Game community is raging over someone trying to sell one hundredth 2025 Scarlet & Violet Prismatic Evolutions Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Boxes for $27,000.
This comes out to $270 per box, a staggering 350.08 percent markup from its original MSRP of $59.99. This is crazy, considering this set was released in January of this year.
What's also crazy is the fact the Promo 173 Eevee (Pokemon Center stamped) that comes with this product is currently selling for about $80!
The photo this seller posted is most likely AI-generated, because the depth of the boxes is two times thicker than normal, while the width and height appear normal.
I can understand why the community is raging over this listing. A lot of us didn't stand a chance in the queue to pre-order this product at The Pokemon Center. When we gained access to the website, this product and just about every other TCG product was sold out.
All hope is not lost because The Pokemon Center updated its description for this product indicating more inventory would be available in the future:
"More inventory of this product will become available later this year. Please subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates," The Pokemon Center informed.[1]
