You can now download Nintendo 3DS demos via Nintendo Zone. Here's Nintendo's full announcement:

"Try the latest games before you buy! Download demos for FREE directly to your Nintendo 3DS while on the go when you visit any Nintendo Zone location. Which game will you try first?"
