RUMOR: Wii U controller to stream Netflix and Hulu videos.
FACTS: Nintendo of Amerca president Reggie Fils-Aime has revealed to Forbes' David M. Ewalt that it's theoretically possible to stream videos to the Wii U controller:
David M. Ewalt: "Can a user consume content other than games on the controller? Could I watch a TV show on it?"[1]Reggie Fils-Aime: "The messaging comes right from the console. So the programming would need to originate off the console."[1]
David M. Ewalt: "So if I’m connected to Netflix on my Wii, I could watch Netflix on the controller?"[1]
Reggie Fils-Aime: "Theoretically, that’s possible."[1]
While there's no official word on a Netflix and/or Hulu app for the Wii U, at least we have official word that this rumored feature is possible.
