Wii U Creates Weak Buzz on Google; Strong Buzz at Retail

Google Trends data is in for the aftermath of the September 13, 2012 episode of Nintendo Direct, and Nintendo barely outperformed their mediocre E3 2012 buzz as seen in this screenshot from Google:

Interestingly, New York was far from being the top source of traffic for "Wii U" searches in the first half of September:

  1. Chicago, IL, USA
  2. Washington, DC, USA
  3. Los Angeles, CA, USA
  4. New York, NY, USA
  5. Toronto, Canada
  6. Houston, TX, USA
  7. Dallas, TX, USA
  8. Mexico City, Mexico
  9. Takachiho, Japan
  10. London, United Kingdom

Although Nintendo didn't perform as well analysts had predicted in search engine market, their buzz was enough to sell out virtually every pre-order of Deluxe Wii U console! GameStop's pre-order supply even sold out in less than 24 hours!

If you wasn't lucky enough to lock in a pre-order of the Wii U -- there's still hope! Amazon.com has yet to list their pre-orders for the console!
