Nintendo could have made 2011 an epic year for their Wii console in the North American market... but they choose to keep RPG hits Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower Japanese exclusive. Judging by the trailers and Japanese reviews, I would have made Xenoblade a top contender for this award. Here's a trailer for that game:
Wow. Look at that huge world to explore! Anyway, as is, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword wins "Nintendo Wii Game of the year" honors without a fight... Here's a lowdown on the game:
Game: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Key Game Features:
- The first "Legend of Zelda" title designed for motion controls, with realistic sword combating, powered by Wii MotionPlus technology.
- Multilayered world featuring a sky and ground to explore.
- Complex dungeons, featuring the largest bosses in the series history.
- A weapon upgrade system.
- Boss challenge mode.
- Hint movies if you're stuck in the game.

Editors Opinions: Right off the bat, I'm going to state the graphics in Skyward Sword sucks, the soundtrack and story isn't up to par with previous "Legend of Zelda" titles, and the game doesn't evolve the series much. With that said, the interactive motion controls, complex dungeons, and epic bosses in this game are top-notch. I guess you can't have it all...
