My personalized recommendations from their sophisticated AI.
Netflix's "Today's Top Picks for You" is a personalized row in their emails that's tailored to your viewing history and preferences using their recommendation algorithm. I've sorted each show and film they recommended to me recently:
Not interested in watching at all:
-
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004).
-
Sean Combs: The Reckoning (2025).
-
Squid Game (2025).
Just over a third (37.5%) of their recommendations prove unhelpful. That's not bad at all.
Interested in watching, but not anytime soon, or not on this platform:
-
Death Becomes Her (1992).
-
Ready Player One (2018).
-
Titanic (1997).
If I didn't already own the Blu-ray 3D versions of Ready Player One and Titanic, I would have been interested in watching the former soon.
Death Becomes Her is a cult favorite that I've never gotten around to watching. It's not interesting enough to bump the other shows and films on my long list.
Interested in watching soon:
-
Transformers (2007).
-
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025).
I don't own a Blu-ray version of Transformers, and I haven't watched this film in a while, so I'm going to try to rewatch it before it leaves Netflix on December 24, 2025.
Meanwhile, I haven't watched a new murder mystery in years, so Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is definitely at the top of my list.
Overall, their recommendations are pretty solid. Their algorithm is arguably the gold standard in the streaming industry. I almost always find something interesting to watch through their recommendations alone.
