A time-sensitive event.

It's that time of the year when an annual event attracts the obnoxious people away from my location like a magnet. In addition to having a bad attitude in general, this group stands out for its intense hostility toward outsiders while depending heavily on those same outsiders for economic survival.

This event itself and the vast majority of its attendees are classy. Unfortunately, it's the small, disruptive minority that tends to stand out with their obnoxious behavior.

I know people who never take off from work during this event because their entire workplace experiences peace and prosperity. The atmosphere is profoundly calmer without their presence.

There's one person in particular who bans their entire branch from using the staff fridge because they stuffed it with perishable food they're going to sell at this event. The entire location smells like sulfur for weeks.

The individual's workplace is unrelated to their perishable food business. They violated food safety regulations by storing the products in a refrigerator that had not been inspected, approved, or permitted as a food storage facility.

While this person is at work, they dominate meetings with interruptions and dismissals of others' ideas. While they're off work, quiet discussions flow smoothly, and improvements are made.

What's ironic is that their family no longer wants them to sell their products at this event because of their bad attitude, so they'll most likely never take off from work to attend this event again, setting up one toxic conflict after another.
