Stuttering galore.
I’ve upgraded to the Remastered edition of The Witcher 3 on the original PlayStation 5, and I’ve noticed that this version has significant stuttering issues on Performance mode.
This mode is supposed to target 60 FPS with only very minor stuttering, but I’m getting noticeable stutters during action scenes, and every time the game saves.
At first, I assumed my M.2 SSD was failing, but that doesn’t seem to be the case since I installed the game on my internal storage.
I’ve ruled out my PS5 overheating as the cause, since I experienced the stuttering just minutes after turning on the console and starting the game.
To top it all off, areas that previously looked really sharp now appear blurry. The Motion Blur and Blur settings aren’t causing the issue, as both are turned off.
I also didn’t experience any major stuttering with the previous “Next Generation” upgrade while using the same settings.
Despite these issues, I’m still going to play the Remastered PS5 version. There are definitely some visual and performance problems that take away from the experience, but they aren’t enough to make me stop playing altogether.
I’m hoping that some of these issues can be addressed in future updates, especially the blurry areas and occasional performance problems. For now, I’m willing to look past them and enjoy the game for what it is, because I’m still interested in experiencing the new features.
