Never in the summer.

A component in my computer almost always fails in the spring: in 2014 my primary hard drive (HD) failed; in 2016 my graphics card (GPU) failed; and this year my power supply (PSU) failed.

That's weird considering spring is the third warmest season. Interestingly, none of my computer components has failed in the summer, the hottest season.

It was easy to troubleshoot the failure after just five boots:

  • Boot 1: My computer restarted and froze.

  • Boot 2: My HD didn't start.

  • Boot 3: My motherboard warned me there's an issue with my RAM.

  • Boot 4: Half of my fans (and presumably other components) didn't turn on.

  • Boot 5: Windows 10 along with its built in recovery software was corrupted.

Boot 1 and 4 are red flags that a PSU has failed, so I replaced that unit. I also tested my HD and RAM. No issues was found then, and a week later.

Question: Does anyone else have a similar story to share?
