Imagine Umbreon ex falling out of a poorly sealed pack.
Some collectors are reporting that their Pokémon Trading Card Game Prismatic Evolutions products have poorly sealed packs. They claimed the following products are affected:
-
Accessory Pouch Special Collection.
-
Elite Trainer Box.
One collector claimed that one of their Elite Trainer Boxes had slightly warped cards, while all of the packs in their other Elite Trainer Box were slightly open.
Another collector claimed all of the packs in their Accessory Pouch Special Collection were barely glued together.
These products aren't cheap either. The Accessory Pouch Special Collection is presently selling for about $60, while the Elite Trainer Box is selling for about $125!
The secondary market is presently flooded with "Prismatic Evolutions" products because a major retailer recently sold a substantial amount of these products. It's going to be interesting to find out if this issue is widespread with the latest reprint.
This adds to the challenge of authenticating this set. A couple of months ago, collectors reported their Booster Bundles had loose shrink wrap.
I've experienced poorly sealed packs with slightly warped cards in some "Scarlet & Violet" era products. This doesn't necessarily mean these products are tampered with.
Whenever I open a product with poorly sealed packs, I check the card order for discrepancies and examine the cards for fingerprints. This method isn't foolproof, but it's quick to perform.
