Owning a piece of football history comes at a cost.

Pre-orders for pre-orders of 2025 Topps Chrome Football are getting ridiculous in the secondary market.

Jumbo Boxes, with an MSRP of $649.99, have been mostly selling for anywhere between $1,200 to $1,250 today on a popular e-commerce website.

Meanwhile, Hobby Boxes, with an MSRP of $349.99, have been mostly selling for anywhere between $650 to $700. These buyers essentially paid the MSRP of a Jumbo Box for their Hobby Box!

This feels like poor value considering Hobby Boxes guarantee just one autograph, compared to two in the Jumbo Box.

Pre-orders for these products were initially available exclusively on EQL, a third-party e-commerce platform that helped Topps reduce bot activity and ensure a fairer launch.

Demand for this product skyrocketed following the reveal of the Tecmo Super Bowl-themed inserts. Among the announced players are former players Bo Jackson, John Elway, and Joe Montana; and current players Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, Jaxson Dart, Saquon Barkley, and Cam Ward. These cards are case hits with odds of approximately 1:12 hobby boxes.
