Some fans have given up hope on Nintendo in general.
Over the past month, Nintendo has been subliminally mocking their fans with their Pokemon Bank service as seen in the timeline below:

October 4, 2014: Nintendo announced that the Pokemon Bank will be released on December 27, 2013 in the North American market.[1]

December 26, 2013: Nintendo changed the North American release date for the Pokemon Bank from "December 27, 2013" to "TBD."

January 3, 2014: Nintendo deleted their reason for delaying the Pokemon Bank in the North American market on their support website.[2]

January 21, 2014: Nintendo released the Pokemon Bank in various Asian markets.

January 27, 2014: Nintendo shutdown the Pokemon X/Y servers from 4:00-10:00 PM Pacific Time.
In addition to those events, Nintendo has only provided updates for the Asian markets. Everyone else continues to remain in the dark...
