More questions than answers.
I received an email from Netflix the other week informing me that "WWE SummerSlam" is now available on their platform for users in the United States.
This confused me because I was under the assumption that WWE's Premium Live Events (PLEs) would be exclusive to ESPN+?
"Beginning immediately, Netflix is the new U.S. home for WWE’s library of Premium Live Events (prior to September 2025) including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble, as well as award-winning documentaries and original programming," WWE announced.[1]
Does this mean ESPN Plus holds the exclusive rights to stream new PLEs for only four months? Or will Netflix only have the rights to stream PLEs before September 2025 for the foreseeable future?
I couldn't find any information on this matter. I suppose we'll need to wait and see what happens.
