Will Under the Dome end this season?
CBS' Under the Dome is only three episodes into its second season, and some fans are already predicting that show will be renewed for a third season. Will those fans end up being right? Let's take a look at a few facts before I answer that question:

CBS revealed in a press release the "season finale" of Under the Dome will air Monday, September 22, 2014; in other words, they're open to renewing that series.[1]

The first three episodes of the second season of Under the Dome ended up being the highest rated show on its air dates. The third episode in particular scored 7.64 million viewers with a 1.9/6 rating in the 18-49 demographic.[2]

Amazon.com has shown high interest in Under the Dome. That company signed a deal with CBS to exclusively stream the first two seasons of that series on Amazon Prime Instant Video.
Using the facts above, I've come to a preliminary conclusion that Under the Dome has a high chance of being renewed for a third season.
October 9, 2014 Update: CBS announced today they have renewed Under the Dome for a third season that will air in the summer of 2015.
