Team Coco for the win.
Turner Broadcasting System announced today they've extended Conan through 2018 citing successful ratings.
"For the year-to-date, CONAN is averaging 862,000 viewers in Live + 7 delivery, with more adults 18-34 than such competitors as The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Arsenio Hall Show, Chelsea Lately and Watch What Happens: Live. The show garnered growth in Q1 2014, with adults 18-34 up by +12% and adults 18-49 increasing by +5% compared to Q4," Turner Broadcasting System revealed.
This news means that Conan O'Brien will become the longest-serving host in 2015 when David Letterman retires that year.
By 2016, O'Brien will become the third longest running late night host, surpassing Jay Leno's 22 years on late night. When David Letterman retires in 2015 he will hold the record for most years on late night with 33 years, followed by Johnny Carson's 30 years.
