I make my own rules.
I've finished binge-watching seasons one to four of Netflix's Stranger Things over the course of six days in preparation for the series finale.
For whatever odd reason, I watched the first season when it was first released in 2016, but I never got around to watching the other seasons.
The total runtime for these seasons is approximately 37 hours and 55 minutes. I watched over 6 hours per day.
Without spoiling much, I had a much different experience than most fans because I watched the first five minutes of the fifth season, which offered a major key detail about one of the main characters. This perspective changed the way I viewed my second viewing of the first season, and my first viewing of seasons two to four.
It's not yet clear if this show can push its way into my top 10 favorite shows of all time list. I'll need to watch the final season to decide. I won't need to wait long because these episodes are releasing in three waves:
-
Volume 1 (episodes 1-4): November 26, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PDT.
-
Volume 2 (episodes 5-7): December 25, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PDT.
-
Finale (episode 8): December 31, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PDT.
My favorite shows, in no particular order, are as follows:
-
24.
-
Arrested Development.
-
DuckTales (1987).
-
Everybody Loves Raymond.
-
Game of Thrones.
-
Hannibal.
-
Home Improvement.
-
Married... with Children.
-
The X-Files
-
The Sopranos
It's going to take a stellar final season to dethrone one of these shows.
