This seller is so delusional they're asking their customers to pay the full Near Mint price for their Heavily Played counterfeit cards.
The Pokemon Trading Card Game craze from 2020-2021 attracted the most ignorant collectors to the hobby who assumed they could turn a huge profit doing no research.
Most recently a delusional seller asked $199.99 for twenty-seven Ultra Rare cards -- twenty-three of which is clearly counterfeit. When the auction ended at $32, the seller refused to sell the lot to the winning bidder and relisted the cards for sale.
The same seller is also asking $400 for the following Sun & Moon era cards:
- 2019 Team Up Ultra Rare 161/181 Magikarp & Wailord GX (Alternate Art).
- 2019 Team Up Ultra Rare 170/181 Latias & Latios GX (Alternate Art).
- 2017 Burning Shadows Secret Rare 169/147 Fairy Energy.
They claimed that all of these cards are in "perfect condition" and is "worth over $600" total. Their photos shows that all three of these cards are in Heavily Played condition due to bad corners and edges.
As of this writing: A quick search on TCG Player revealed that authentic copies of these cards in Heavily Played condition have recently sold for about $200 total. Even if these cards were authentic and in Near Mint condition, they would be worth about $410 total.
