Pre-orders for Nintendo's replica of the classic Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Super NES) controller which can be used with the Switch console was quick to sell out.
The controller retails for $29.99 and is currently exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Orders, which is limited to four per Nintendo Account, will begin shipping on September 18, 2019.
This is a scalpers dream scenario -- because the purchase limit is absurdly high considering Super NES games is limited to two players.
Given the situation, scalpers have been been making upwards of $90 per controller on a popular auction website.
Nintendo hasn't revealed if this item will be available to purchase in stores.
