Prehistoric setting, same Far Cry elements.jump-the-shark-001

Ubisoft shocked the video game industry when they announced "Far Cry Primal," a drastic change from the previous titles in that series.

Far Cry Primal takes place in the Stone Age, a time when humanity is at the bottom of the food chain. In that game, you'll need to fend off fierce predators, and learn how to outsmart enemy tribes.

Some fans was quick to state that game has "nothing to do with the 'Far Cry' franchise," because the main character is limited to primitive weapons, and the setting doesn't allow massive explosions.

Just because Far Cry Primal won't feature modern weapons and massive explosions doesn't mean it has nothing to do with that series, which has always been about the main character trying to survive in an open world exotic location. All of those main elements will remain in Far Cry Primal.

Question: Has the Far Cry series jumped the shark (taken a turn for the worse) with Far Cry Primal?
