I know loads of indie developers that could have handled this port better than Square Enix.![]()
The Microsoft Windows PC version of Final Fantasy VI launched today, and I was shocked when I found out the maximum screen resolution for that title is a mere 1366x768; as a comparison, Final Fantasy V, which launched a few months ago, offers resolutions up to 1920x1080.
Both of those titles uses the same game engine, and was ported by Square Enix, one of the most powerful video game developers.
In addition to that baffling flaw, the PC version of Final Fantasy VI features 28 Steam Achievements, while Final Fantasy V features a whopping 96 Steam Achievements.
Final Fantasy VI really got the short end of the stick, huh?
