Once awesome.
Now mediocre.
Are there any franchise debut video games that you previously really enjoyed playing but can no longer stand playing?
I really enjoyed playing The Witcher back in 2008 because of the engrossing story; but fast forward to 2016, and I can't stand that game because the novelty wore off, and the horrific combat became more obvious.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is another franchise debut video game that I no longer want to play, because the gameplay is clunky and repetitive. Its sequels are much more enjoyable to play because those issues was fixed.
As a comparison, I still enjoy playing Super Mario Bros. (1985), Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (1994), Quake (1996), Fatal Frame (2001), and Penumbra: Overture (2007), just as much now as I did when I first played those games.
