Four weeks after its release, critics made Star Wars: The Force Awakens the third highest rated core film in that series on Rotten Tomatoes. It's pretty obvious which films took the number one and two spots...

stars 001In my opinion, The Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope are underscored by 0.5 points, because those films are innovative and memorable.

I would have also given The Force Awakens a score that's 0.5 points higher for its stunning cinematography and memorable scenes.

It's going to be very interesting to find out where the tentatively titled Star Wars: Episode VIII (releasing May 26, 2017) will rank on that list.
