Warning: There's a major spoiler for the season 3 finale of Sleepy Hollow in this article.
The writers for the Sleepy Hollow television series made a bold move by killing off Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) in the season 3 finale, leading some fans to predict that Fox will soon cancel that series. Does that speculation have any merit? Let's find out by taking a look at a few facts:
-
As of this writing, Fox has yet to publicly renewannounce season 4.
-
According to showrunner Clifton Campbell, Nicole Beharie will not return as Abbie Mills should that series continue.[1]
-
The third seasons live 18-49 demographic rating averaged 0.7 on Friday nights. That's considered decent ratings for its timeslot.
I'm predicting that Fox will order one more season to see if they can maintain a 0.7 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. If that series loses further viewers, it'll most likely be canceled after the fourth season.
