Yet another DOS patch that creates major issues.![]()
Some Divinity: Original Sin players reported their game has been frequently crashing or not loading altogether since their copy was updated to version 1.0.67.
Unfortunately, some of the patches for Divinity: Original Sin has been introducing major issues that players needs to put up with until a new patch is released; in the meantime, you can try these two general fixes that helped some players:
-
Your firewall and/or anti-virus program could be blocking access to Divinity: Original Sin, which can result in startup issues. Make sure those programs aren't blocking access to your EoCApp.exe and SupportTool.exe files.
-
You can try launching Divinity: Original Sin in administrator mode by right clicking on the EoCApp.exe file in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Divinity - Original Sin\Shipping folder (assuming you installed Steam in the default directory), and choosing the run as administrator option.
- If your copy of Divinity: Original Sin is working smoothly and you don't want to put up with potential random issues, you can disable automatic updates for that game by right clicking on Divinity: Original Sin in Steam and choosing the Properties link. From there click on the Updates link, and choose the do not automatically update this game option under automatic updates.
