Gearbox Software has finally removed the controversial SecuRom DRM from the Steam version of Borderlands and its DLC via a surprising patch!
A “Granting Tool” has also been added to Steam's “Tools” section that turns a retail version of Borderlands into a Steam version.
The surprises doesn't stop there! You can also import your retail Borderlands DLC keys into Steam.
It's a shame that patch wasn't offered in 2009... but rather late than never.
