One-year in the making.

This smashed blaster box of 2010 Upper Deck World of Sports has been sitting in my local Target's bargain bin since last year.

I took one for the team by purchasing that blaster box which contains 11 packs with 6 cards in each pack for $12.78, because my local Target slows down their new additions to that bin if their current blaster boxes doesn't sell.

2010 Upper Deck World of Sports features autographed cards (1:100 packs), memorabilia cards (1:20 packs) and Clear Competitors cards (1:20 packs). Those odds sounds good in text, but keep in mind that most of those hits features mediocre players.

Upper Deck revealed that base cards 301 to 375 received a short print. Using this box as a standard, I've estimated that 1:5 packs contains one of those cards.

Insert Cards

  • CC-21 - John Tavares (retail CC odds 1:20 packs)

Tavares was selected first overall by the New York Islanders in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, where he has been playing since.

I don't know how I feel about this pull, because although I love to collect clear cards, that type of cards from this series rarely sells well. Hell I've seen a mint graded Sidney Crosby Clear Competitors card sell for only $2.26!
