Well partially gave up.![]()
The analog stick in the GameCube controller that came bundled with my console finally gave up. I purchased that GameCube at launch on November 18, 2001, which is nearly 14 years ago.
The upper part of the control stick in that controller no longer works properly. I now need to use a lot of pressure to activate the highest part of that stick for some titles, notably in Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, which was oddly coded to make the character run only when I push the analog stick to the end.
I can still use that controller for titles that isn't so sensitive. Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker plays fine.
Question: Does your first GameCube controller still work without any issues?
