Well, that didn't take long.
All of my local department stores have sold out of Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City Booster Packs just days after the set’s release. The fact that these packs have disappeared from store shelves so quickly highlights just how difficult it has become to find Disney Lorcana products at retail.
In fact, I haven’t seen any Disney Lorcana Booster Packs in stock at any of these stores for months. If I remember correctly, the last time I was able to purchase a Booster Pack in person was in June 2026, roughly four months ago. Since then, finding available packs at local retail stores has been a real challenge, making it increasingly difficult for players and collectors like me to purchase new cards without turning to online retailers or the secondary market.
The shortage also appears to extend beyond Disney Lorcana. Demand for trading card games in general seems to be exceptionally high, with limited availability and rapid sellouts affecting multiple franchises. One of my local department stores has even started restricting purchases of newly released Yu-Gi-Oh! and Star Wars: Unlimited products to just one Booster Pack per customer. These purchase limits appear intended to give more customers an opportunity to buy packs rather than allowing a small number of shoppers to purchase most of the available stock.
With Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City Booster Packs selling out within days and other trading card releases subject to strict purchase limits, it is becoming increasingly frustrating for local players and collectors to find products at their usual retail stores. Hopefully, future restocks will help improve availability and give more customers a fair chance to purchase Booster Packs at regular retail prices.
It’s disappointing to miss out on the excitement of opening freshly released Booster Packs, especially when the set features so many potentially exciting cards to discover. Some of the biggest hits I’m missing out on include the highly coveted Mickey Mouse – Best in Town and Cinderella – Unintentional Icon, which are the set’s two Iconic cards, as well as Enchanted cards featuring Belle – Exceptional Writer and Ariel – Collector of Oddities.
