I don't think so.
I recently spotted a craft store selling the 2026 Pokémon TCG League Battle Deck: Mega Lucario ex for "$49.99," and I had to do a double take.
That’s an absolutely wild price when you consider the deck’s MSRP is only $29.99. That’s a $20 markup, or roughly 67% above MSRP, for a product that isn’t exactly hard to find.
And to be fair, the Mega Lucario ex League Battle Deck is actually a pretty solid product. It comes with several desirable cards, including:
-
2025 Mega Evolution Double Rare #077/132 Mega Lucario ex (×3).
-
2024 Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable Double Rare #038/064 Fezandipiti ex (×1).
-
2024 Scarlet & Violet—Twilight Masquerade Rare #141/167 Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex (×1).
-
2024 Scarlet & Violet—Twilight Masquerade ACE SPEC #163/167 Secret Box (×1).
Based on current card values, those four main hits add up to roughly $13.50 in value. Of course, the deck contains plenty of other cards and accessories, so the individual hits aren't the entire value proposition. The real appeal is getting a ready-to-play League Battle Deck with a strong collection of useful cards right out of the box.
It’s a good deck. It has some nice cards. And Mega Lucario ex is definitely a fun Pokémon to build around. But at $49.99, that’s not a deal; that’s a markup.
If you see this deck in the wild, I’d definitely recommend checking the price before tossing it into your cart. MSRP or close to it? Absolutely. Nearly $50? I’d pass.
