It seems your save file, QUEST64.0, went out to look for SRAM and has not returned.
I purchased a generic 256 KB Memory Pak back in 2022 because I wanted to start a new save file for various games such as Quest 64, South Park, Goemon's Great Adventure, and WWF: Attitude.
It worked flawlessly when I played through South Park, but now my data is corrupt. I've tried the usual fixes, such as cleaning its contacts and installing a brand-new, high-quality CR2032, with no luck.
This is a bummer because I was looking forward to playing Quest 64, a game that I haven't played since the Nintendo GameCube was released on November 18, 2001. Every time I try to load a save file in this game, the following error message shows up:
"No Quest saves found. Press A button to exit menu."
The battery-backed SRAM in this Memory Pak must be defective because it can no longer save my data for more than a minute. The Controller Pak Menu shows that my save data is stored, but it's severely corrupt.
Interestingly, my OEM Controller Pak that I purchased in 1999 is still working! I've never changed its battery, and all of my save files are in perfectly working order!
I didn't want to use my original Controller Pak because I needed to delete one of my original save files to start a new file, but this was my only other option while I searched for a better solution.
