It took me less than 5 seconds to choose my three shows; in fact, it would have been easy to choose my top five. Being as it may, here are my choices along with a summary of each show:
3. Stranger Things.
The 1980s were an incredible time for pop culture, and this adventure-horror nailed the atmosphere of this period. The supernatural forces, secret government experiments, and parallel dimension are so perfectly blended that I can see myself rewatching this series annually.
2. Dexter.
A crime thriller series centered around Dexter, a Miami forensic analyst, who follows a strict code that allows him to only go after criminals who have escaped justice. The suspense, dark humor, and psychological drama are unmatched among other series. It's fun to watch him live a double life. The only downside to this show is its uneven seasons (some are pretty bad, while others are legendary).
1. Hannibal.
I was never a big fan of the Hannibal films, but this psychological horror-thriller series is so stylish and well-written, it's one of the most beautiful and disturbing shows ever made. Hannibal's intelligence is unmatched. His lack of empathy, manipulative nature, and charm are on a level of their own. It's the only show with three seasons that's on my top 10 shows of all time list. I rewatch this entire series annually around the autumn.
