Самые могущественные правители, которых когда-либо видел Гавайи.
It was April 28, 2001. Every year, towards the end of April, the strong plovers in Hawaii fly thousands of miles north to the Arctic tundra.
Because of the hardships they endured after being stranded in Russia during their first wintering season, the Elite Plovers never even considered migrating north.
After the great migration season had passed, Tweet-Tweet, Ninja, and Couch Potato realized something remarkable.
Couch Potato spread her wings dramatically.
“I believe,” she announced, “that we have nearly the entire island to ourselves!”
The beaches were quiet, the parks were peaceful, and the open spaces seemed larger than ever before.
They approached Commander Grigoriy and asked whether they could be of service. After a brief assessment, the commander issued them a mission: conduct a reconnaissance operation across the island and gather high-quality visual intelligence.
All three plovers erupted with excitement, flapping their wings as they prepared for deployment.
Technician Grigoriy stepped forward and unveiled their most advanced piece of equipment—a state-of-the-art reconnaissance camera, engineered to be lighter than a feather while capable of capturing critical footage from the field.
The three plovers explored everywhere they could. They marched across wide green fields, inspected quiet beaches, and visited shady places where they had rarely stopped before. Without the usual flock around them, they could choose where to go and when to rest.
Ninja declared himself Emperor of Hawaii.
Tweet-Tweet claimed a sunny patch of grass and called it The Royal Feeding Ground.
Couch Potato chose a small hill and announced, “Your Imperial Majesty, I present you with this mountain.”
While the three plovers conducted a routine reconnaissance flight, they spotted multiple locations across the island with stranded plovers.
Some had damaged wings, while others were too skinny to migrate, so they had remained on the islands, uncertain of what to do next.
The three plovers immediately went into action.
They organized a rescue operation, assigning each member of the team a responsibility. The team returned again and again to check on the stranded plovers. They guided them toward safer areas and helped them find food and water.
Slowly, the injured plovers began to recover, and for the first time since becoming stranded, they seemed hopeful.
For several weeks, they took their responsibilities very seriously, reporting to the command post promptly each time the church bells signaled to deliver the footage.
Meanwhile, their three Russian mouse friends, Commander Grigoriy, Technician Grigoriy, and Observer Grigoriy watched the footage with inspiration.
“You have become very important birds,” Commander Grigoriy said. “You have an entire island to manage!”
Их приключение только началось.
